Sino Swearingen’s SJ30, Serial No. 005, touched down at Geneva Airport on Monday, having flown from its San Antonio, Texas facility to Action Aviation’s UK headquarters at London Luton Airport.  The SJ30 is at EBACE this week in the static park, sporting a new corporate livery.

Action Aviation, the exclusive distributor of the Sino Swearingen SJ30 in 66 countries in Europe, Middle East and Russia, is hosting the SJ30 at EBACE 2006. Hamish Harding, Chairman of Action Aviation, was one of the flight crew which piloted the SJ30 from Texas to Geneva, along with Sino Swearingen Chief Test Pilot, John Siemens.  “The SJ30 is as easy to fly as other well known light corporate jets, yet flies 70-100 Kts faster than they do,” Harding commented. “On this flight from Texas, we were carrying five people and over 800lbs baggage for EBACE and, despite sub-optimal ISA+10 degrees C conditions, we were still able to climb straight to 41,000ft and cruise at .815 Mach (478 Kts TAS) with a fuel burn of less than 120 gal/hour. On some sectors, we covered over 1700 nautical miles, nearly twice the range of some competitor jets with the same heavy payload.  The SJ30 is a remarkable jet,” he noted.

With a cruise speed of 486 kts, an IFR range of 2,500 nautical miles (with NBAA IFR reserves) and a service ceiling of 49,000ft, the SJ30 business jet is in a class of its own.   The SJ30 is certificated for single-pilot operations and has seven seats.  The two rear executive seats recline to form a fully flat double bed, ideal for the longer transatlantic flights. Stylish wooden doors can be closed at the front of the cabin for passenger privacy.

Medical / Evacuation Mission for the SJ30. The SJ30 is the only business jet in the world with a sea level cabin pressurisation right up to 41,000ft (and a cabin pressure altitude of only 1,600ft when cruising at 49,000ft).  This reduces the effects of jet lag and tiredness normally experienced by passengers on longer flights.  This also makes the SJ30 ideal for medevac use, transporting patients over longer distances at sea-level cabin pressure.

Action Aviation has ordered 159 aircraft from Sino Swearingen by placing non-refundable deposits for each (over half of the 300 production aircraft already sold to date by the manufacturer) to service its sales territory of Europe, the Middle East and Russia. “The Russian and Middle East markets are especially buoyant at present and interest in the SJ30 is strong, probably because of the longer range flights often required from these territories”, says says Action Aviation Founder and Chairman, Hamish Harding.
